11 ABU Students To Leave For Three Weeks Huawei Intensive Boot Camp In Abuja
Eleven undergraduate students of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, with their instructors will leave for three weeks boot camp at the Huawei Office in Abuja from 5th to 28th February, 2025.
Team Lead, Ahmadu Bello University -Huawei Advanced ICT Academy Support Centre, (ABU-HIA/iASC), Prof. MB Muazu, disclosed this when he and the students called on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala.
Prof. Muazu stated that the students had qualified to represent Nigeria at the African regional finals scheduled for February 28, 2025 in the Network, Cloud and Computing tracks.

The Team Lead noted that the Artificial Intelligence, (AI)/Innovation competition will commence later this month.
The students, who qualified for the competition boot camp and regional finals are Mustapha Hussaini Shehu, Chemistry Department; Abubakar Murtala, Computer Science; Obioma Tobechukwu Joel, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering; Yakubu Musa Yakubu, Computer Science; Adekunle Abdulroqeeb Oladimeji, Electrical Engineering; and Erasmus E. Obeth, Computer Engineering.
The Team Lead appealed to the Vice-Chancellor to formally grant the students permission to participate and allow them to make up any missed assignments, labs and test during the period they would be away.
Responding, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, commended the Team Lead and the students for representing the University well.
Prof. Bala explained that the University Management had made it a policy that each time students are representing the University at a function, they are granted formal permission until the end of the function.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that the University Management would reciprocate the gesture of the students by waving their school and accommodation fees for 2024/2025 academic session.
Prof. Bala advised the students to be good ambassadors of the University and be of good conduct anywhere they find themselves.
