Abdul-Lateef Adedamola Emerges as TASUED’s Best Graduating Student with 4.91 CGPA, Wins ₦2.5 Million
Abdul-Lateef Adedamola graduated as Tai Solarin University of Education’s best student with a record-breaking 4.91 CGPA in mathematics, earning multiple awards, including a ₦2.5 million cash prize, and plans to advance his career in EdTech and academia.
Abdul-Lateef Adedamola has made history as the best graduating student of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) after earning a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with an outstanding 4.91 CGPA, the highest ever recorded in the university’s history.
In recognition of his academic excellence, he received multiple awards, including a ₦2.5 million cash prize from the governor of his state as the university’s 2024 valedictorian.
Adedamola’s academic journey began at the Kwara State College of Education, where he obtained a National Certificate in Education (NCE) in mathematics and computer science before proceeding to TASUED. He initially aimed for a first-class degree but was inspired by a lecturer’s advice to push himself further, leading to his record-breaking achievement.
Aside from being TASUED’s overall best graduate, he was also recognized as the best graduating student in his department and college.

Interestingly, mathematics was once a subject he dreaded, but during his UTME preparations, he dedicated time to mastering it. Initially, he had planned to study chemistry/computer science in his NCE program but was offered computer science/mathematics, which ultimately ignited his passion for teaching the subject.
Beyond academics, Adedamola actively participated in teacher training on educational technology (EdTech) and took on side hustles to support himself financially. He also served as the coordinator of the College of Science and Information Technology (COSIT) under the Muslim Student Society of Nigeria (MSSN) TASUED during his final year.
Looking ahead, he plans to expand his EdTech brand, contribute to teacher training initiatives, and pursue a master’s and PhD within seven years.
