Abia State University, ABSU change of degree programme for 2023/2024 session has commenced. The closing date is on Friday, 5th July, 2024.


This is to notify all interested regular students of the University that the process for change of degree programmes for the 2023/2024 academic session has commenced.
LATEST UPDATE : ABSU approved the Extension of Deadline For Completion Of Change Of Course, 2023/2024 Academic Session
The Vice-Chancellor, Abia State University, Distinguished Professor Onyemachi M. Ogbulu, has graciously approved final extension of deadline for completion of Change of Course, 2023/2024 academic session, by two (2) weeks
The exercise which was scheduled to be concluded on Friday, 21st June, 2024 will now end on Friday, 5th July, 2024. Lectures for the 2023/2024 academic session have since commenced.
The exercise which was scheduled to be concluded on Friday, 7th June, 2024 will now end on Friday, 21st June, 2024.
Interested Students, their Parents and Guardians are advised to avail themselves of this last opportunity, to ensure completion of processing of their applications and payment of the appropriate Change of Course fee, on or before Friday, 5th July, 2024.
Please, note that Change of Course is not compulsory.
Interested students, their parents and guardians should note the following:
Guidelines:
- The student should apply to the Vice-Chancellor, through his/her current Dean and Head of Department;
- The student must have spent at least one (1) academic session in the University and must possess the minimum entry requirements for the degree programme being applied for;
- The student must have achieved a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of not less than 3.00, first semester and second semester examinations combined;
- Duly qualified students, as stated in 1-3 above, should present their credentials for screening at the Admissions Office, Office of the Registrar and thereafter, collect payment slips for payment of the prescribed fee at the appropriate banks and sign the indemnity forms;
- Change of degree programmes should be exercised only once during a student’s undergraduate programme;
- Available programmes include: Law, Medicine & Surgery, Nursing Science, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Science, Public Health, among others;
- Transfer students are to be considered, as appropriate.
Please note, that successful students must collect letters of approval for change of degree programmes, endorsed by the Registrar, otherwise the change of programme will not be valid.
