UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION FOR HOME ECONOMICS AND EDUCATION
Below is the UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION for Home Economics and Education;
- English Language(*), Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and one (1) other subject.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)
- (i) IAUED requires one (1) Science subject and any other subjects.
- (ii) UMUDIKE requires Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, and Mathematics/Physics as the UTME subjects.
- (iii) BENIN requires Biology/Agricultural Science and any other two (2) Science or Social Science subjects.
- (iv) MAUTY requires Biology/Agricultural Science and any two of Home Economic/Management, economics, Chemistry, Physics.
- (v) EDOMOK requires Chemistry or Biology plus two (2) other Science subjects.
- (vi) EDASAB requires Biology or Agricultural Science and any two (2) Science or Social Science subjects.
- (v) EBSU requires a Social Science subject as the third (3rd) subject.
- (ix) LAGOS requires English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and one other subject from Mathematics, Physics, Food & Nutrition, Home Management, Clothing & Textile, Garment Making, Dyeing & Bleaching, Catering Craft Practice.
- (x) BSU requires Biology, Chemistry, and any one of Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Agricultural Science.
- (xi) UNN requires Chemistry or Biology plus any other two (2) Science or Social Science subjects like Agricultural Science, Home Economics, Physics, Mathematics, Economics, Commerce and Geography.
- (xii) DELSU requires Biology or Agricultural Science or Chemistry, Home Economics or Food and Nutrition and any one of Mathematics and Economics.
- (xiii) TASUED requires Mathematics and any two (2) subjects from Biology, Agricultural Science, Physics or Chemistry.
- (xiv) MAUTY requires Biology/Agricultural Science and any two (2) of Home Economics, Economics, Chemistry or Physics.
- (xv) YABA-DEG requires English Language, Chemistry/Biology and any other two (2) subjects from the O’Level requirements.
O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT FOR HOME ECONOMICS AND EDUCATION
Below is the UTME Requirement for Home Economics and Education;
- Five (5) ‘O’ level NTC/NBC credit passes or TC II merit including English Language, Mathematics, Home Economics, Biology and Chemistry.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)
- (i) BENIN requires ‘O’ Level pass in Chemistry and ‘O’ Level credit pass in Biology/Agricultural Science.
- (ii) ADEYEMIDEG requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in Chemistry, Mathematics, and any two (2) of the following: Food and Nutrition, Home Economics/Home Management, Clothing and Textile, Agricultural Science/Biology.
- (iii) EDALV requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in Biology and Chemistry.
- (iv) IAUED requires one (1) Science subject.
- (v) DELSU requires five (5) credits passes at SSC or its equivalent including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Home Economics or Food Nutrition.
- (vi) UYO requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in Chemistry.
- (vii) LAGOS requires Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry Biology/Agricultural Science and any one of Economics, Home Economics, Physics, Food & Nutrition/Home Management, Clothing and Textile, Garment Making/Dyeing & Bleaching/Catering Craft Practice.
- (viii) EBSU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and any three(3) of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Food and Nutrition, Clothing and textile, Home Management.
- (ix) MAUTY requires Five (5) O Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and any three of Biology/Agric Sc., Home Management, Food and Nutrition, Clothing & Textiles, Economics, Geography, Chemistry, Physics, Health Education, Catering & Craft Practice, Garment Making, Textile Trade, Marketing/Salesmanship, Cosmetology. Or NTC/NBC credit Passes or TCII Merit Including English and Mathematics.
- (x) ABU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes Mathematics/English Language/Home Economics, Biology, Geography, Physics/Chemistry. Old Grade II Five (5) passes including Arithmetic/English Language/Domestic Science. New Grade II Teachers Certificate Five (5) credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and Home Economics. NB Note, one (1) Home Economics subject is required i.e Foods and Nutrition, Home Management or Textile and Clothing.
- (ix) UNN requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes which must include any two (2) of the following: Home Management, Clothing and Textiles, Food and Nutrition, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Agricultural Science, Economics, Cosmetology, Garment Making and Catering Craft at ‘O’ Level plus the UNN UTME requirements.
- (x) ABSU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Chemistry and any two (2) other subjects
- (xi) TASUED requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes or NTC/ NBC credits at one (1) sitting or six (6) ‘O’ Level/NTC or NBC credit passes at two (2) sittings including English Language, Mathematics and any other subject from Food and Nutrition, Home Management, Clothing and Textile, Agricultural Science, Biology, Economics, Health Education and Chemistry. ‘O’ Level pass in Chemistry is required.
- (xii) EDOMOK requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes which must include English Language and any two (2) of the following Home Management, Clothing and Textile, Food and Nutrition, Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science and Economics.
- (xiii) BSU requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology and any two (2) of the following subjects: Home Management, Clothing and Textiles Food and Nutrition, Chemistry, Agricultural Science and Economics.
- (xiv) TASUED requires five (5) GCE ‘O’ Level or NTC/NBC credits at one sitting or six (6) GCE ‘O’ Level NTC or NBC credits at two (2) sittings including English Language, Mathematics and any other three (3) subjects from Food and Nutrition, Home Management, Clothing and Textile, Agricultural Science, Biology, Economics, Health Education and Chemistry. A minimum of pass in Chemistry or credit in Food and Nutrition, Home Management or Agricultural Science is required.
- (xv) BSU requires credits in English, Mathematics, Biology and any two (2) of the following subjects; Home Management, Clothing and Textiles, Food and Nutrition, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, and Economics at WASSCE/SSCE/GCE ‘O’ Level/NTC/NBC.
DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR HOME ECONOMICS AND EDUCATION
Below is the DIRECT ENTRY (DE) Requirement for Home Economics and Education;
- NCE merit in Home Economics
- ‘A’ level passes in two (2) of Chemistry or any of Biology, Botany and Agricultural Science.
- ND/HND credit in Home Economics or Food Science or Hotel and Catering Management or any other related programme.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)
- (i) UNN (a) for a three (3)-Year Degree programme, it requires any of the following in addition to the UTME requirements. (b) NCE merit in Home Economics, ND lower credit in Fashion and Clothing Management Education or Home Economics or Home and Rural Economics or Hotel and Catering. (c) Candidates with a University Degree in any discipline in addition to the departmental UTME requirements may be considered for direct entry admission for a three (3)-year programme.
- (ii) BENIN a. requires two (2) or three (3) merit in NCE including Home Economics plus three (3) or two (2) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Biology/Agricultural Science with ‘O’ Level pass in Chemistry.
- (iii) LAGOS accepts NCE or ND in Home Economics , Catering and Hotel Management, Textile Management and any other relevant Subject with minimum of merit pass. Very good passes in three Jupeb Subjects: Chemistry , Biology and one other subject from Home Economics, Physics, Food & Nutrition, Home Management and clothing & Textile. Three ‘A’ Level passes in any two relevant Science subjects of Chemistry and any one of Biology, Botany and Agricultural Science, Physics. ND with Distinction in Hotel Management, Tourism, Catering and Hotel Management or any other related course.
- (iv) EDZAR – requires three (3)’A’ Level passes/NCE in Home Economics. NCE credit in Home Economics including Education.
- (v) TASUED accepts a. NCE in Home Economics with a minimum of Merit Pass. b. At least two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in two (2) of Chemistry, Biology and Agricultural Science. c. Minimum of OND/HND with minimum of upper credit in Home Economics or Food Science or Hotel and Catering Management and any other related course.
- (vi) ABU accepts ‘A’ Level passes/IJMB in two (2) of Chemistry and any of Biology, Botany or Agricultural Science.
- (vii) EDOMOK accepts NCE merit/HND/ND lower credit in Fashion and Clothing Management Education or Home Economics or Hotel and Catering or Home and Rural Economics plus the UNN UTME requirements.
- (ix) FC-PANKSHIN accepts ‘O’ Level pass in Chemistry, does not accept application of ND/HND candidates without teaching qualifications.
- (x) YABA-DEG accepts NCE merit in Home Economics A Level passes in two (2) of Chemistry or any Biology, Botany and Agricultural Science. ND/HND credit in Home Economics or Food Science or Hotel and Catering Management or any other related programme.
- (ix) EBSU accepts NCE merit or ND/HND upper credit respectively in the relevant programme.
- (xi) DELSU requires NCE in Home Economics with minimum of merit pass OND Home Economics or Food Science in upper credit or any other related courses.
- (xii) YABA-DEG requires Five (5) O Level NTC/NBC credit passes or TC II in English Language, Mathematics and any other three (3) subjects from: Home Economics/Management, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, Food & Nutrition, Economics, Cosmetology, Clothing & Textile/Garment Marking, Catering Craft, Health Education/Health Science, Dying & Bleaching, Leather Work/Leather Good, Tourism, Jewellery and Basketery.
- (xi) MAUTY accepts NCE merit in Home Economics. A Level passes in two (2) of Chemistry or any Biology, Botany and Agricultural Science. ND/HND credit in Home Economics or Food Science or Hotel and Catering Management or any other related programme.
- (xii) BSU requires; a) Preliminary degree candidates (from Benue State University only) must pass at least five (5) out of the six (6) subjects studied with pass level of at least 50% in each subjects. b) NCE use of English is acceptable in lieu of ‘O’ Level in English Language. c) ‘A’ Level pass in any of the acceptable subjects. d) A minimum of upper credit level at ND/HND or Diploma in Fashion and Clothing Management Education or Home Economics plus a minimum of credit level pass in any two (2) of the followings Home Management, Clothing and textiles, Food and Nutrition, Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Sciences and economics WASSCE/SSCE/GCE ‘O’ Level NTC/NBC. e) A minimum of merit level pass in NCE (Home Economic Education) with credit level pass in any four (4) of the following: Home Management, Clothing and Textiles, Food and Nutrition, Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science and Economics at WASSCE/SSCE/GCE ‘O’ Level /NABTEB. f) Any other qualification that may be considered appropriate by Benue State University, Makurdi.
