NDA Postgraduate Requirements for Full-Time Programmes
The requirements for the various NDA Postgraduate full-time programs are as follows;
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree
A candidate for PhD Degree must poseess a minimum of Second Class Honours(Lower Division) at Bachelor Degree and a Master’s Degree in proposed field of study from a recognized University. In Addition, the candidate must have scores an average of not less than 60% or 3.50% at the Masters level.
Masters (MA, M.Eng and MLSc) Degrees
A candidate seeking admission into the Master’s Degree programme shall be a graduate of the Nigerian Defence Academy or any other recognised university. Such candidate must possess a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) in relevant field of study
DURATION OF NDA POSTGRADUATE FULL-TIME PROGRAMME
Each student admitted for the PhD or Master’s Degree must Pursue a FULL-TIME course of study and research in the Academy. Depending on the fegree in view, the following conditions are also applicable.
A student in for the Master’s degree shall pursue the programme for 2 years (4 semesters)
Candidates for PhD Degree shall pursue the programme for 3 years (6 semesters). At the expiration of the period of study for any given programme, a student shall be withdrawn from the academy.
However, on exceptional circumstances, application for extension to complete the program may be entertained.
Extension shall not exceed a period of one year (2 semesters) in case of Master’s degree and 2 years (4 semesters) in case of PhD.
Requirements for NDA Professional Courses
The requirements for the various programs are as follows;
Master’s Degree:
Candidates applying for the part-time programmes must possess a Bachelor degree with a minimum of Second-Class Honours (Lower Division). Candidates with Third Class degree or Higher National Diploma must also possess a Postgraduate Diploma at credit level in a related discipline from any recognised University to be eligible for admission. HND candidates must possess a minimum of Lower Credit to apply
PGD Programmes:
Candidates applying for the Postgraduate Diploma programme must possess a minimum of Third-Class Bachelor’s degree from the Nigerian Defence Academy or any other recognised University, or Higher National Diploma at a minimum of Lower Credit.
Duration Of Programmes:
A student for Master degree shall pursue the programme for 18 months (2 semesters course work and 1 semester for project.
A student for Postgraduate diploma shall pursue the programme for twelve months (2 semesters) except engineering courses which runs for 24 months (4 semesters).
General Information:
Professional master degree and postgraduate diploma Programmes are delivered on Fridays and Saturdays.

(d) Choose sitting “first” or “second” (Note: you can only upload two sittings)
(e) Provide your grade for “English Language” and “Mathematics”
(f) Provide three other relevant subjects and their grades
(g) Click on “Submit O level result”
Repeat steps (b) to (g) above to upload your second sitting. (Note: remember to choose “second sitting”)
Add O’Level Verication Cards (Step 6)
You are required to upload an O Level verification card for each sitting you have uploaded
Click on “Academics”
Then click on “Add Verification Cards”
Specify the exam details, card pin, and card serial number
Choose the sitting “first” or “second”
Click on “Submit Verification Card”
Follow the process above for the “second” sitting
Add Referees (Step 7)
You need a minimum of two referees

Provide Referee’s name
Provide Referee’s valid e-mail
Note: Your referee will get an email with a link to fill in the online referee form that will take only two minutes to fill.
Click on “Submit Confidential Referee”
