Nnamdi Azikiwe University Alumnus Endows ₦500,000 for Best Graduating Students

In a generous gesture to support academic excellence, Dr Frank Odinaka Igbojindu, Group Managing Director of Akpoazaa Group and an alumnus of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, has endowed a total of ₦500,000 to reward the university’s best-graduating students.

During a visit to the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu, Dr. Igbojindu expressed his deep appreciation for the institution that shaped his academic journey.

“This university has given me so much in terms of knowledge. I obtained all my degrees here, up to my PhD. I am here to give back and support the university, especially the administration of Prof. Ikechebelu,” he stated.

Dr Igbojindu announced that the Akpoazaa Foundation Best Graduating Student Prize will be awarded in the following categories:

₦250,000 for the overall best-graduating student.

₦150,000 for the best-graduating student in the Faculty of Management Sciences.

₦100,000 for the best graduating student in the Department of Accountancy, his alma mater.

The endowment will take effect from the university’s 19th Convocation Ceremonies, scheduled for March 26–28, 2025.

In addition, Dr Igbojindu donated a fully equipped 500-capacity event tent for the 2025 convocation ceremonies through Akpoazaa Event Planners, a subsidiary of Akpoazaa Group.

Expressing gratitude, Prof. Ikechebelu commended Dr. Igbojindu’s commitment to the university and its students, emphasizing that the institution welcomes partnerships and support from its alumni.

Dr. Igbojindu, a native of Okija in Anambra State, has long been an advocate for education. Through partnerships with NGOs and education-focused organizations, his Best Brain Contest, a subsidiary of Akpoazaa Group, has provided scholarships to over 3,000 students. Meanwhile, the Akpoazaa Foundation currently sponsors 87 scholarship beneficiaries, reinforcing its dedication to supporting young scholars.

This endowment further cements Dr Igbojindu’s legacy as a key contributor to academic excellence and student empowerment at Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
