The Director-General, National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman, on Wednesday congratulated Prof. Mohammed Mustapha Akanbi, SAN, on his appointment as the Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University (KWASU).


Prior to his appointment, according to a statement from the institute, Prof. Akanbi was a sabbatical official and served as the Head of the Legal Research Division, Department of Legislative Support Services in the agency.

The director-general described the appointment as well deserved given the appointee’s zeal for hard work and track record of outstanding performance.
Prof. Sulaiman expressed confidence in the new VC’s capacity to make an impact on not just the university, but also the education sector.
He prayed for God’s guidance as he takes up the onerous task of his new office.
Prof. Akanbi, according to a letter dated April 1, 2020, signed by the Kwara State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, is expected to resume as the vice chancellor of KWASU with immediate effect.
