Demetria Coley made history as the youngest nursing graduate at Florida State University after earning her degree at 18 years old, inspired by her late mother and driven by years of accelerated academic success.

Demetria Coley is an American academic achiever who made history at just 18 years old as the youngest graduate of Florida State University’s College of Nursing, completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing through an accelerated academic path that began early in life.
She first stood out academically after being homeschooled by her father, a science teacher, which allowed her to progress quickly through school. By the age of 15, she had already earned an Associate of Arts degree, making her one of the youngest college graduates in her earlier institution. She later continued her education at Florida State University, where she pursued nursing.
During her time at university, she balanced academic coursework with clinical training in hospitals, gaining hands-on experience in areas such as emergency care and neonatal nursing. Despite being significantly younger than many of her classmates, she remained focused and consistent in her studies, steadily working toward her professional goal.
Her motivation is deeply personal, as she was inspired by her late mother, who was a nurse and passed away in 2020. This influenced her desire to enter healthcare, particularly neonatal intensive care (NICU) nursing, where she hopes to support newborns and families.
At graduation, she not only made history as the youngest nursing graduate in the program but also became a symbol of determination, discipline, and early academic excellence, showing how structured education and strong personal motivation can lead to remarkable achievement.
