Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, has withdrawn 27 students, including 11 for poor academic performance and 16 for failing to register for two consecutive semesters.
The Senate of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, Kogi State, has approved the withdrawal of 27 students from the institution for various academic reasons.
The decision was taken during the university’s 166th Regular Senate Meeting held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. It followed the presentation and review of a report by the Results Verification Committee, which examined the academic records of students across different faculties and departments.
According to the report, 11 students were withdrawn because they failed to meet the university’s required academic standards. Another 16 students lost their studentship after failing to register for two consecutive semesters, an offence that automatically leads to the forfeiture of studentship under the university’s academic regulations.
The affected students came from the Faculties of Arts and Humanities, Education, Management Sciences, Social Sciences, as well as Medicine and Surgery.
The Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of Senate, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman, commended members of the Results Verification Committee for carefully carrying out their responsibilities. He said the university would continue to uphold academic excellence, discipline and quality assurance.
Usman also advised continuing students to take their studies seriously, make proper use of the academic resources available to them and work towards achieving excellence both academically and in character.
Meanwhile, the university instructed the affected students to return all institutional property in their possession, including identity cards and other official materials, to the Security Unit before completing their departure from the university.
