Admiralty University of Nigeria graduated 72 students at its fourth convocation, including 10 with First Class honours, while the VC reaffirmed academic standards and celebrated top achievers Divine Ikede and Ugwashi Aya.

Ten students from the Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), Ibusa, Delta State, have graduated with First Class honours across various programmes.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Christopher Ogbogbo, announced this on Monday during the university’s fourth convocation ceremony. He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to maintaining rigorous academic standards and ensuring quality in teaching, learning, and evaluation.
According to him, “The University Senate has renewed its commitment to sustaining excellence in knowledge creation and dissemination. The additional vetting applied to final-year results created some tension, but most of the affected students have now been cleared. I appreciate the committee for its diligence throughout the review process.
“To our staff members, please note that examination procedures will now be strictly enforced, and anyone involved in unethical practices will face consequences.”
A total of 72 students graduated during the ceremony. Of these, 10 earned First Class degrees, 43 graduated with Second Class Upper, 17 with Second Class Lower, and two with Third Class honours.
In his remarks to the graduates, Ogbogbo urged them to apply the values, knowledge, and resilience they gained at ADUN as they move into the next chapter of their careers.
“You have been refined like gold,” he said. “This moment marks not an end, but a gateway to greater responsibilities. We expect your leadership and accomplishments to shine globally. Your determination has turned obstacles into victories. Carry forward the discipline, empathy, and drive you developed here.”
Highlighting developments under his administration, the Vice-Chancellor announced that ADUN has launched postgraduate programmes, expanding its academic scope to include advanced research and scholarship beyond undergraduate studies.
The overall best graduating student, Divine Ikede from the Software Engineering Department, achieved a CGPA of 4.99 and received a cash prize of ₦470,000. The best female graduate, Ugwashi Aya from the Economics Department, finished with a CGPA of 4.96 and was awarded ₦120,000.
