Drama as Student Calls Out Babcock University Over Sending CGPA to Parent

A student of Babcock University sparked online reactions after revealing on TikTok that her school allegedly sent her CGPA results directly to her mother, surprising many users while others said it’s a common practice.

A wave of reactions has followed after a student of Babcock University publicly criticized the school for allegedly sending her academic results directly to her mother without her consent.

The student, identified on TikTok as Chioma Okpara, shared a video explaining how her mother unexpectedly forwarded an email containing her GPA and CGPA. According to her, she found the situation amusing and couldn’t stop laughing after seeing that the school had sent her results to her parent.

In her post, she jokingly pointed out that while students may think their own universities are strict, one institution in Ogun State reportedly went as far as distributing students’ full academic records—including GPA and CGPA—to their parents.

Her video quickly went viral, sparking mixed reactions online. While some users were shocked by the move, others said it wasn’t unusual, noting that certain schools routinely send students’ academic updates, including attendance and results, to parents after each semester. A few even admitted to providing incorrect personal details to avoid such situations.

For clarity, CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is a standard measure used by universities to evaluate a student’s overall academic performance across all courses taken.
