He noted that this performance reflects a 5.76% improvement compared to the 26.96% pass rate recorded in the 2025 first series.

Adesina also disclosed that 43 candidates with special needs participated in the examination. The council provided adequate support for 11 visually impaired candidates, four with hearing impairments, and four albinos during the conduct of the test.

Furthermore, 8,418 candidates (80.32%) have had their results fully processed, while 2,062 candidates still have some subjects pending due to errors attributed to the candidates themselves.

However, the results of 75 candidates (0.72%) have been withheld in connection with reported cases of examination malpractice.

Adesina stated that the cases are currently under investigation, and findings will be presented to the appropriate committee of the council for review. The final decisions will be communicated directly to the affected candidates.

Some WASSCE results are usually held. Let’s explain that.

What is WAEC Withheld Result?

According to Adenipekun, some of the results were withheld in connection with various reported cases of examination malpractice.”

In simple words, it was reported that you or your center were involved in examination malpractice.

WAEC will investigate the report and if the candidates/school were found culpable, their results will be canceled.

If they are not culpable then their results will be released.

When will the withheld result be released? No exact date yet!

The Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) will meet next week to decide on the malpractice cases arising from the conduct of that examination and others.
