A talented Nigerian woman, Aderinsola Oluwatofunmi Onibon, has successfully achieved her lifelong ambition of becoming a veterinary doctor—a dream she has held since she was just 10 years old.
She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Ibadan, marking a major milestone in her academic and personal journey.
Aderinsola’s passion for the medical field began early. While still in primary school, she boldly declared her ambition to become a doctor during her graduation ceremony. Her interest in healthcare was also evident when she served as a health prefect, showing her early commitment to helping others.
In 2018, she took a significant step toward her goal by gaining admission into the University of Ibadan to study veterinary medicine. The journey was not easy, as the program required years of intense study, dedication, and sacrifice. Despite challenges such as long study hours, sleepless nights, and moments of doubt, she remained determined and focused.
Her perseverance eventually paid off as she completed her studies and was officially inducted as a veterinary doctor—bringing her childhood dream to reality.
Reflecting on her achievement, Aderinsola described the moment as emotional and fulfilling, filled with gratitude and joy. She captured her journey perfectly in her words: “Little me believed it, grown me achieved it.”
She also expressed deep appreciation to her parents, family, and supporters who played important roles in her success, acknowledging that her accomplishment was made possible through both personal effort and strong support.
