Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq rewarded the Nigerian Law School’s best and second-best graduates from the state with ₦5 million each and pledged to sponsor their postgraduate studies abroad.
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has recognised two outstanding indigenes who finished as the best and second-best graduates at the 2026 Nigerian Law School. In appreciation of their remarkable achievements, the governor presented each of them with a cash reward of ₦5 million and pledged to sponsor their postgraduate education abroad.
The honoured graduates are Israel Adekunle Adeniyi from Offa, who emerged as the overall best graduating student, and Oluwatomisin Promise Daniel from Idofin Igbana in Oke Ero Local Government Area, who finished as the second-best student. Both earned their law degrees from the University of Ilorin before attending the Nigerian Law School.
Speaking after receiving the two scholars in Ilorin, AbdulRazaq praised their dedication, discipline and academic excellence. He said their achievements had brought pride to Kwara State and should inspire other young people to work hard and pursue excellence in their studies.
The governor explained that the financial rewards were meant to recognise the graduates’ commitment and encourage other students to strive for similar success. Beyond the ₦5 million given to each graduate, he also promised that the state government would fund their master’s degree programmes once they secure admission into reputable Ivy League universities overseas.
AbdulRazaq noted that the accomplishments of the two young lawyers prove that education remains a valuable path to success despite claims by some people that schooling no longer pays off. According to him, their achievements demonstrate that determination and hard work can open doors to greater opportunities.
He congratulated both graduates on their exceptional performance and wished them continued success as they advance in their legal careers. The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to recognising excellence and supporting talented individuals who make the state proud through outstanding academic achievements.
