Nigerian Graduate Excels with First-Class Degree in Education, Becomes Certified Teacher

Bada Esther Adesola, initially hesitant about studying Early Childhood Education at the University of Lagos, graduated top of her class with a first-class degree and became a certified professional teacher, crediting her success to God, her mother, and supportive mentors.

allscho in Bada Esther Adesola has emerged as the top graduate in her class after earning a First-Class Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Lagos. In addition to this academic achievement, she has been officially inducted as a certified professional teacher by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).

Adesola’s academic journey didn’t begin with enthusiasm. Initially disappointed after being admitted through JAMB CAPS into Early Childhood Education—an area she hadn’t considered—she struggled to accept the offer. For days, she questioned the relevance and importance of the course.

With her mother’s encouragement, she chose to give it a try, hoping to switch courses after the first year. But things changed once she began attending classes. Her first semester results, along with a growing appreciation for the subject, shifted her perspective.

She soon realized that Early Childhood Education goes far beyond the basics—it plays a crucial role in shaping the mental, emotional, and social development of children during their formative years. Inspired by this understanding, her passion grew, and so did her performance.

Now a licensed educator, Adesola proudly reflects on how far she’s come. “I never thought I’d end up here,” she shared. “But looking back, I see how much this journey has transformed me.”

She credits her success to the grace of God and the unwavering support from her mother and university mentors. Today, she is determined to inspire and nurture future generations through education.
