The Chief Executive Officer of Gtext Global, Stephen Akintayo, has charged the government to upgrade universities’ courses.
Akintayo made the call in Lagos as Gtext Academy began a new session of its post-graduate programme.
He said: “Currently, the country is in a complex situation where there is a high rate challenge of graduates coming out of the university who were not well-prepared for the marketplace and we also have a situation where there are not enough jobs. Hence, no society grows with low productivity.
“The way the Nigerian university system has been wired is giving graduating students perspective activity called productivity. Many of the courses taught in the universities, most of them are not practical or have nothing to do with real real-life issues.
Declaring the training open, he said the training was for individuals who are desired to be employable or self-employed.
“The programme will kick-off with a virtual classes running from August 27th – September 10th while the offline classes resume on September 13th – October 11th, 2021. It is a practical lesson that offers courses in Digital Marketing, Public Speaking, Stress and Project Management, Public, HRM, etc.”
