The University of Ilorin Faculty of Law has concluded plans to award the best graduating student from the department a cash prize of N50,000 for the next 20 years.

This was disclosed in a letter signed by a Committee set up for the launch of a book ‘History and Development of Judiciary in Kwara State 1960-2020” and addressed to the university vice-chancellor, Prof. Sulyman Age Abdulkareem.
According to the committee, it has set aside an N1,000,000 endowment fund that will cater for the annual prize for the next 20 years.
The committee also stated that the scholarship/prize-winning award is being created in the name of the legal icon, incorruptible jurist and Retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Late Honourable Justice Saidu Kawu (CON), in appreciation of his uncommon and immeasurable contributions to the development of law and humanity in Kwara State in particular, and Nigeria as a whole.
