Oluwatobi Olasunkanmi, a 24-year-old Nigerian, has graduated with a first-class bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, standing out as the only black student in his graduating class.
Oluwatobi’s exceptional performance earned him the prestigious William Charnley Prize, awarded to the top first-class Law graduate at Hughes Hall, along with the E.M. Burnett Prizes for the highest marks in two university-wide papers.
In a congratulatory letter from Hughes Hall’s Senior Tutor, Dr. Philip Johnson, dated June 26, 2015, Olasunkanmi’s academic excellence was celebrated, with the tutor acknowledging his remarkable achievement.
Oluwatobi’s father, Senator Akinlabi Olasunkanmi, a former Nigerian Minister of Youth Development, expressed great pride in his son’s accomplishment, emphasizing the honor it brings to their family and Nigeria as a whole.
