As you navigate your way through life during the indefinite strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). Here are three things you need to know before the end of the industrial action. Let’s begin.
Dear Prospective Graduates,
1. Time is fast spent than you think.
You have just 4-6 years as the case may be, to prepare yourself for the highly competitive labour market. Borrow a leaf from the life of Nigerian billionaire and the richest man of the black race, Aliko Dangote. Despite being born with a silver spoon, Dangote started living the life he wanted right fron childhood while retailling commodities in the neighbourhood. On the other side, many so called graduates wait for the aftermath of college, before bargaining with life what they wanted. Hence, never be a Triangular Student. Enroll in any skill acquisition programme, sandwich programmes or any short professional courses during this break. It helps a lot!

2. Your course of study or Class of Honor is not a silver bullet.
Ones course of study or Class of Honor does notdetermine who makes it or not in the real world. The list of great entrepreneurs like Microsoft founder Bill Gate, Tesla CEO – Elon Musk, Richard Brandon, Oprah Winfrey among others are enough to make you realise Certification is not Education. Think of there rise to fame, none of it was a function of what they read in college. Do not label anyone has back benchers, empty headed or C- students because you make First Class. It doesn’t matter.
3. Don’t assume the common notion of no JOB
Never get dissuaded by the pessimistic view of no job and leave out your important assignment on campus such as attending lectures, practical class and even tutorial classes. If there seems not to be chance today oppurtunity might flood everywhere tomorrow. Always keep your hope alive. Remember, heaven help those who help themselves.
I wish you success.
