Cursory: A UPSA student was seen raining lashes on another learner who appeared to be much younger. It was reported by many unconfirmed sources that the perpetrator was trying to get back at the younger lady for a wrongful accusation. According to a statement by the university, the perpetrator has been identified and will be brought to book.

In a statement issued by the Registrar, Dr. Koryoe Anim-Wright, the University of Professional Studies, Accra, has addressed the controversy surrounding the widely circulated video showing a woman slapping another student.
A student at UPSA was shown in a video on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, raining lashes on another student who appeared to be much younger. The footage was widely shared on social media, particularly Twitter.
According to rumors that circulated with the video, the younger girl had allegedly accused the older one of sleeping with professors in order to improve her grades.
The culprit has been identified, and it has been proven that she is not a normal student, according to the UPSA statement on the school’s official website.
The school did, however, state that steps would be made to guarantee that she is disciplined and that order prevails at the 20,000-student institution.
“Our preliminary investigation has revealed that the culprit is in a special non-tertiary programme in preparation for an external professional examination. Upon completion of the investigation, all responsible persons will face the full rigor of sanctions,” portions of the statement read.
