Cur’Dericka Rice, a 17-year-old African American student from Monroe, Louisiana, has made waves as her high school’s valedictorian, boasting a perfect 4.00 GPA.
Her stellar academic achievements have earned her an impressive $1 million in scholarships to 13 universities across the United States.
Graduating from Richmond High School in Louisiana with a flawless GPA and a remarkable score of 33 on her ACT, Rice’s dedication and hard work have been recognized nationally.
She attributes her success to the unwavering support and guidance of her teachers and parents.
Looking ahead to her college education, Rice plans to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering at Louisiana Tech University, driven by her passion to address environmental pollution and its consequences.
She emphasizes the importance of perseverance and self-belief, encouraging fellow students to pursue their dreams relentlessly.
In another historic achievement, Tera Poole has shattered a 176-year-old record at the University of Maryland by becoming the institution’s first-ever black valedictorian. Making history at the University of Maryland’s School of Dentistry, Poole’s accomplishment marks a significant milestone in the university’s journey since its inception in 1840.
She underscores the significance of her achievement, highlighting the university’s establishment 76 years before the abolition of slavery in the United States.
