JAMB has warned candidates not to accept admissions outside its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) and urged institutions to disclose any such admissions from 2017 to 2023 by August 31st, 2024, or face serious consequences.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has once again cautioned candidates against accepting admissions from tertiary institutions that are not processed through its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
JAMB also reminded institutions to urgently disclose any admissions they offered outside of CAPS between 2017 and 2023, warning that violations will carry serious consequences.
In a statement released on Thursday by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the board noted that many candidates have been visiting JAMB offices to address issues related to admissions granted outside CAPS since 2017.
The statement emphasized: “While we understand candidates’ concerns, the main responsibility lies with institutions, which must disclose all candidates admitted outside CAPS by the August 31st, 2024 deadline. Institutions must comply with this directive immediately, as failure to do so will result in severe penalties. Candidates are also reminded not to accept any admissions that are not processed through CAPS.”
JAMB further stressed that any candidates not disclosed by institutions will not be recognized, and moving forward, the board will not tolerate any undisclosed admissions.
