The JAMB has announced a new date for the 2025 Mock UTME, rescheduling it from April 5 to April 10. They have explained their reason for the change.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a new date for the 2025 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Initially set for Saturday, April 5, the exam will now take place on Thursday, April 10.
According to JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin, 200,115 candidates registered for the optional mock exam. The change is aimed at allowing more time for proper preparations and the integration of new innovations to enhance the exam experience. It also accommodates the increased number of exam centres for 2025.
JAMB emphasized that this move aligns with global best practices and aims to improve the effectiveness of the mock UTME as a preparatory tool.
The date for the main UTME remains unchanged and will begin on April 25. Candidates are advised to await further announcements regarding the printing of their Mock Notification Slip, which will contain details of their exam centres.
JAMB’s Mock UTME is designed to help candidates practice ahead of the actual exam and to cater to students under the age of 16 who are not yet eligible to sit for the main UTME.
