Inspiring First-Gen Graduate Earns Political Science Degree, Accepted into Harvard, Yale, and Columbia for Graduate Studies

Eryka Annabell Clarke, a first-generation college graduate, earned a Political Science degree from Howard University, completed a master’s at Harvard, and is now headed to Yale Law School after being accepted into several top U.S. universities.

Eryka Annabell Clarke, a trailblazing young scholar, has earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Howard University, USA—becoming the first in her family to graduate from college. Her academic journey, marked by determination and excellence, led to her acceptance into three of the most prestigious universities in the world for her graduate studies: Harvard University, Columbia University, and the University of Pennsylvania.

In a heartfelt post on LinkedIn, Eryka reflected on her time at Howard University, describing it as a deeply transformational experience that challenged and shaped her for future success. “It was a space that molded me and prepared me for a beautiful but tough road ahead,” she shared.

Eryka’s commitment to her goals pushed her to explore uncharted territory. She credited her progress to resilience, faith, and an unrelenting drive to achieve what once felt impossible.

Accepted to Three Top Schools—She Chose Harvard

After weighing her options, Eryka chose to pursue a Master’s in Education at Harvard University, with a focus on Policy, Quantitative Analysis, and Law. She graduated in 2024 with honors and noted how the experience reshaped her—not just academically, but personally and professionally.

“Harvard refined me as a thinker, a leader, and a woman,” she said, expressing gratitude to her family, mentors, professors, and friends whose support helped her succeed.

Yale Law School Bound in 2025

Continuing her remarkable academic journey, Eryka has now been accepted into several prestigious law schools, including Harvard, Georgetown, George Washington, Howard, Temple, and Yale University. Ultimately, she chose Yale Law School.

She described her decision as one rooted in purpose: “I am excited to join a community that values bold thinking, service, and lasting impact.” Eryka emphasized that her journey was made possible by the collective support of mentors, friends, and her family.

A Message to Dreamers

To others pursuing their dreams, especially first-generation students, Eryka offered this encouragement: “Nothing you’ve done is greater than what you’re still capable of achieving”
