A Nigerian lady, @ayomie, inspired many online by sharing how she dropped out of FUTA at 400 level due to burnout, restarted her academic journey at Lead City University after a life-changing tweet, and eventually graduated, now proudly serving her country.

Identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @ayomie, she opened up about how overwhelming her academic struggles became while studying at FUTA. Exhausted and emotionally drained, she contemplated quitting—but couldn’t bring herself to take the leap until a powerful tweet changed everything in 2017.
The Turning Point
The motivational post that shifted her mindset was originally shared by politician and entrepreneur Oloye Akin Alabi. It read:
“You are 30 so don’t want to go for a 5-year course because when you finish you will be 35. Whether you go back or not, you will be 35 in 5 years.”
Those words hit home for @ayomie, who then decided—on that very day—to leave FUTA during her second semester of 400 level and start over at Lead City University.
A New Beginning and a Joyful End
Years later, her determination paid off. She completed her studies at Lead City University and received her NYSC call-up letter, officially closing one chapter and beginning another.
Sharing her excitement online, she wrote:
“I was exhausted, tired of everything. Then one Thursday, I saw this tweet on WhatsApp. Something in me shifted. That same day, I made the hardest choice. I left FUTA in 400L, second semester, to start all over again at Lead City. Today, I’m a graduate. Serving my country with joy.”
Online Reactions
Her story quickly gained traction online, with thousands of users praising her courage, resilience, and determination. Many said her journey was a reminder that it’s never too late to start over—and that success often comes after tough decisions.
