A university couple earned first class in physiotherapy and graduated as the top student in their department.


A Nigerian graduate, Oluwasegun Akinwola, has celebrated completing his studies at University of Ibadan alongside his partner, Jacintha Nosazeogie, after both emerged as the best graduating students in their department.
The young man, known on X as @_numuno, shared photos from their induction ceremony and reflected on their academic journey together in the Department of Physiotherapy. According to him, he graduated with a first-class degree and emerged as the Best Graduating Male Student, while his partner also earned a first-class degree and became the Best Graduating Female Student.
Beyond academics, the couple achieved several recognitions during their time in school. Oluwasegun served as President of the Association of Physiotherapy Students, while Jacintha held the position of Editor-in-Chief of PhysioPress. They were also repeatedly recognised as “Couple of the Year” by different student associations.
Expressing his happiness, Oluwasegun described Jacintha as his best friend and said he was grateful they successfully completed the journey together.
He also highlighted some of his personal accomplishments as an undergraduate, including winning the ACAPN International Scientific Conference Inter-University Quiz Competition as the sole representative of UI, earning coaching awards in the ABH League, and receiving the Egbe Omo Oduduwa Scholarship awarded to outstanding Yoruba students in the university.
Their achievement attracted admiration online, with many social media users congratulating the couple and praising them for balancing academics and their relationship successfully.
