Kaduna State University has entered into partnership with Crown University Int’l, Cruz, Argentina, to achieve academic excellence for both institutions.


The partnership, which was concluded in Kaduna recently, would also improve and empower both institutions and their students as well as training in identified areas of special needs, such as humanities, arts, technologies, engineering, medicine, among others.
Speaking after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the partnership, the vice chancellor of Crown University, Prof. Bashiru Aremu, said the partnership would also include reciprocal/dual certifications and top up degree arrangements for the Kaduna State University, on undergraduate and graduate programmes on a credit transfer-based criterion as established by the university.
Aremu said the two universities shall undertake regular exchange of their respective practices and methods in training and research and other fields, as well as intensify discussion between their staff to look for solutions to the problems of either or both parties, while deploying all necessary efforts to ensure funding of activities from this partnership.
“Students from Crown University Intl. Chartered Inc must meet all other admission and transfer criteria documented in the then-current Kaduna State University, Kaduna, catalog.
“All Crown University Intl Chartered Inc. students who are studying in the areas of Humanities, Arts, Technologies, Engineering, Medicine and Health Sciences, Pure and Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Management Sciences and other related courses as well complete their programs at Kaduna State University, Kaduna, Kaduna State, Nigeria , shall receive a degree as dual degree or top up degrees based on the articulation agreement established between both parties,” Aremu said.
He added that the financial resources and materials shall be provided by both parties to look for solutions to their problems or to train their staff, while the two parties agree to organise annual consultative meetings using appropriate technology aimed at appraising the implementation of the partnership.
The vice chancellor said Crown University Intl, shall pay any tuition charged by Kaduna State University, per student for all applicable degrees, while transfer students must submit their transcripts from former institutions to the Kaduna State University.
For his part, the vice chancellor of Kaduna State University, Prof. Muhammad Tanko, assured that the universities would adhere strictly to the terms and conditions of the partnership as contained in the MoU.
