Agege LGA Awards ₦1 Million Each to Top WAEC Students

Agege Local Government in Lagos State awarded ₦5 million to outstanding WAEC students, their schools, and the education district to promote academic excellence and celebrate exceptional performance.

In a remarkable show of support for academic excellence, the Agege Local Government Area (LGA) of Lagos State has awarded a total of ₦5 million to outstanding students, their schools, and the local education district for exceptional performances in the 2025 West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exams.

During a formal award ceremony held in Lagos, the Chairman of Agege LGA, Alhaji Azeez Tunde, accompanied by Vice Chairman Alhaji Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa, announced the recipients and praised their hard work and achievements.

🎓 Top Awardees

Three standout students each received ₦1 million in recognition of their academic feats:

  • Akintoye Boluwatife Niemat (Government Senior College, Agege) – 7 A1s, 1 B3, 1 C6
  • Hassan Aisha Ayomide (Government Senior College, Agege) – 6 A1s, 3 B3s
  • Olatunji Olayinka Deborah (Dairy Farm Senior Secondary School, Agege) – 5 A1s, 2 B2s, 3 B3s

🏫 Institutional Rewards

  • Government Senior College, Agege, which produced two of the top scorers, received ₦1 million.
  • Dairy Farm Senior Secondary School, where one top student emerged, was awarded ₦500,000.
  • The Agege Education District was also recognized with a ₦500,000 prize.

In total, the local government disbursed ₦5 million to celebrate academic excellence and inspire further achievement.

Chairman Tunde commended the students, teachers, and education officials, emphasizing the transformative power of education:
