A brilliant Nigerian female student named Maryam Afonja Ademuwi from the microbiology department has emerged as the first-ever best graduating student of the First Technical-University Ibadan.


Maryam bagged the First-Class degree with an exceptional 4.91 CGPA out of a possible 5.0, which made her the overall best among the 12 first-class graduates.
The First Technical University, Ibadan in her maiden convocation ceremony on Saturday, March 5, 2022, announced that 12 out of 63 graduates bagged a First Class award with Maryam Afonja Adewumi being the maiden overall best student of the institution.
In Maryam Afonja’s speech, she revealed that the only challenge she had during her course of study was with calculations but later overcame it after several consultations.
