CURSORY : Times Higher Education (THE) 2024 World ranking has announced FUNAAB as the best university of Agriculture in Africa.
According to the recent Times Higher Education (THE) 2024 World ranking, The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has been announced as the best university of Agriculture in Africa, and the 7th best globally.
This was disclosed by the Acting head, directorate of public relations (DPR) of the university Sunkani Olajide in a statement.
Sunkani Olajide also said that out of 1,906 universities across the 108 countries that were evaluated, FUNAAB was able to obtain this achievement.
In his words; “This methodology involved 18 meticulously calibrated performance indicators, assessing institutions in five key areas: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry, and International Outlook.”
He also said that before this achievement, the university was previously named best public university in Nigeria and given the 2nd position in Nigeria in the 2023 Sub-Saharan Africa University rankings.
The vice chancellor Professor Babatunde Kehinde congratulated the entire university community and asked that every member joins hands together to move the university forward .
