Gunmen in military uniforms storms Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) abducting the Students Union President and other students.


Unknown gunmen have reportedly invaded TASUED, Ijebu-Ode Ogun State.
The unknown gunmen who were in army uniforms stormed the school premises in the evening of Thursday, 28th October abducting the Students’ Union President and some students.
This has led students to take to the street to protest.
One of the students narrating the incident said:
“We don’t know who these people are but they wore military uniforms. They stormed the school and abducted students. They seized cars and phones of students. Our SUP was carted away. We don’t know where they took them to. We’re protesting for the state government to take urgent steps in finding a solution to our plight. We’ve blocked the road and won’t settle until the students and properties that were taken are returned”

The students’ action has since caused tension. This is part of the security challenges bedeviling the country currently.
The students through the protest call on the state government to take urgent and necessary steps in solving these security-related problems.
No doubt, the Federal Government in conjunction with the State governments of the various states need to look into the matter and take decision swiftly and accurately as insecurity now poses great threats to the education system in the country from the North down to the South.
