A young and active citizen of Nigeria, Agboola Akinola Afees has narrated his story how he was rejected 39 times within 5 years while hunting for Scholarships abroad.
The Primary Education Studies graduate of the University of Ilorin shared his story with newsmen after he successfully secured MasterCard Foundation Scholarship to McGill University, Canada.
According to Agboola who began hunting for Scholarships in 2016 when he completed his compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Agboola said he never believed that it could take him up to 5 years to win a scholarship.
“I knew my inability to graduate with First Class might limit my chances. I was determined to give it all it takes. Where I got the strength to keep on, I can’t explain despite all the challenges. I sat for IELTS twice and I passed”.
