  • (vii) AJAYI requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes must include: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and one (1) other Science subject at one (1) sitting or six (6) credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings.
  • (viii) BOWEN does not accept Agricultural Science as another Science subject.
  • (ix) MAKURDI and KWASU – Same as in Biochemistry.
  • (x) RHEMA and JABU accept Agricultural Science In lieu of Biology.

  • (xiii) FUTA requires five (5) SSC credit passes or its equivalent at a maximum of two (2) sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Biology/ Agricultural Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
  • (xiv) REDEEMER’S requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry Biology and Physics.
  • (xv) MINNA requires at least ‘O’ Level pass in Physics with ‘O’ Level credit pass in any other Science subject.
  • (xvi) KWASU requires ‘O’ Level credit passes from English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and any two (2) of Biology, Physics, Further Mathematics or Agricultural Science.
  • (xvii) UMUDIKE – Same as in its requirement for Food Science and Technology.

  • (xix) FED-DUTSE; (a) For Environmental Management and Toxicology accepts Five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at SSC level or its equivalent to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography and Biology or Agric. Science, in not more than two (2) sittings. Candidates must also have at least pass in Physics. (b) For Microbiology accepts English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics in SSC or its equivalent with minimum credit level in one or two sittings.
  • (xix) KSUSTA accepts ‘O’ Level credit pass in Geography or Agricultural Science in lieu of Physics.

  • (xxi) CUAB requires five ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Geography with ‘O’ Level pass in Physics, Biology and Agricultural Science.
  • (xxii) BSU for Microbiology accepts passes in five (5) prescribed subjects in Preliminary Science of BSU in addition to the UTME requirements.
  • (xxiii) UNN requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
  • (xxiv) BENIN for Science Laboratory Technology requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and any two (2) of Biology, Physics, Agricultural Science and Geography, depending on the option chosen by the candidate. Candidates opting for Physic/Electronics, Petrochemical Geology and Physiology/Pharmacology Techniques must have ‘O’ Level credit pass in Physics.
  • (xxv) WESTERN-DEL – For Environmental Management and Toxicology accepts ‘O’ Level credit passes in Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology and Geography in lieu of Physic.
  • (xxvi) UNIKINGS accepts five (5) credits at SSC in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and any other Science subject.
  • (xxvii) LANDMARK accepts in lieu of Physics ‘O’ Level credit pass in any of the following subjects: Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Agricultural Science and Food and Nutrition.
  • (xxviii) ODUDUWA accepts ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Health Science and any other Science subject.
  • (xxix) EUI accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes or its equivalent including English Language and Mathematics and any other three (3) science subjects.
  • (xxx) FED-DUTSINMA requires Five ‘O’ level Credits to include: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
  • (xxxi) EUI requires five (5) credit passes at SSC or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology at not more than two (2) sittings.
  • (xxxii) DELSU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credits which must include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics & English Language.
  • (xxxiii) AAUA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
  • (xxxiv) FED-OYE EKITI requires five (5) credit at SSC (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry and not more than two (2) sittings.

  • (xxxvii) UMYUK requires five (5) credit passes at SSC or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics at not more than two (2) sittings.
  • (xxxviii) FUPRE requires five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics, or a pass in Physics and a credit pass in Geography, Agricultural Science, Computer Studies/Health Education, Fisheries/Tourism.
  • (xxxix) ILORIN requires five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
  • (xl) EKSU – For Science Laboratory Technology it requires five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and any other two subjects from the following: Biology or Agricultural Science and Physics. A pass in physics may be considered for Biotechnology/Biological Option.
  • (xli) FED-WUKARI – for Microbiology requires; Candidates must obtain Five(5) Credits at not more than two sittings including English Language, Mathematics, Biology and any two from the following subjects: Biology/Physics/Chemistry or Geography/Statistics obtained from Senior School. Certificate(SSCE), National Examination Council(NECO), National Business and Technical Examination Board(NABTEB) (or its equivalent) or its equivalent.
  • (xlii) UNIHEZ accepts Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and any other science subject.
  • (xliii) MOUNTAIN TOP – Candidates should possess the following minimum qualifications in SSCE or its equivalents with credit level passes in 5 subjects including English language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry at NOT more than two (2) sittings. Candidates must also earn an acceptable score in the post UTME screening.
  • (xliv) LAGOS requires Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
  • (xlv) FED-LOKOJA requires Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and any other Science subject.
  • (xlvi) ABU requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
  • (xlvii) PHC accepts Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. For Science Laboratory Technology PHC accepts Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
  • (xlviii) FED-LAFIA requires Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Science and Physics. For Microbiology, FED-LAFIA requires Five (5) Credit passes at SSCE, GCE, NECO and NABTEB O’ Level examination in Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Chemistry and Physics in not more than two sittings.
  • (xlix) FED-KASHERE accepts Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
  • (l) KASU accepts Five ‘O’ level credit passes to include English language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
  • (li) LANDMARK accepts Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or one of Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Computer studies, Data processing, Agricultural science, Food, and nutrition.
  • (lii) SOSU accepts Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
  • (liii) MAUTY requires Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. For Science Laboratory Technology MAUTY accepts Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR MICROBIOLOGY

Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and any one (1) from Biology, Zoology or Botany.

  • (vi) AAU accepts only first degree and five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in relevant subjects.
  • (vii) AAUA accepts ND upper credit/HND lower credit in the relevant programmes.
  • (viii) FUTA requires; a) ND with a minimum grade of Upper Credit in relevant disciplines from a recognized institution; or b) at least two (2) subjects at GCE ‘A’ Level or equivalent with a minimum of Grade C.
  • (ix) LAGOS accepts Very good passes in the following three (3) JUPEB/A-level subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • (x) FUNAAB – Same as in Biological Science.
  • (xi) UMUDIKE and MINNA – Same as in Biochemistry.
  • (xi) DELSU accepts a) At least two ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and either Biology, Botany or Zoology. b) Diploma with upper credit in relevant courses in microbiology from polytechnic recognized by the University.
  • (xii) IGBINEDION accepts ND/NCE in Biology, Food Technology or Botany.
  • (xiii) COOU accepts ND/HND/NCE lower credit in any related Science programmes with Biology Major in the combination
  • (xiv) FUTO requires; For Science Laboratory Technology a) At least two (2) ‘A’ level passes not below Grade C in Chemistry and one of Physics or Biology/Botany/Zoology. b) ND/HND at Upper Credit level in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Microbiology, Science Laboratory Technology, Physics, Chemistry or Geology. c) First Degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Microbiology, Physics, Chemistry or Geology. d) Very good passes in three JUPEB subjects namely Chemistry and any two (2) of Physics, Biology and Mathematics. For Microbiology a) At least two (2) ‘A’ Level passes not below Grade C in Chemistry and any from Biology, Zoology and Botany. b) ND/HND at Upper Credit level in life sciences. c) First Degree in life sciences. d) Very good passes in three JUPEB subjects namely Chemistry, Biology and Physics. It does not accept NCE. Candidates must in addition meet the ‘O’ Level requirements.
  • (xv) BENIN in addition to the UTME requirements, accepts (a) ND upper credit / HND lower credit in Food Technology or Science Laboratory Technology (c) NCE Merit with ‘O’ Level credit pass in Biology.
  • (xvi) UYO accepts ND/HND in relevant programmes plus the UTME requirements.
  • (xvii) CALABAR requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes from Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
  • (xviii) MAIDUGURI accepts HND in Microbiology and related programme.
  • (xix) AJAYI requires ‘A’ Level passes in Biology and Chemistry plus the UTME requirements.
  • (xx) CUAB same as in Biodiversity Conservation and Utilization Level IJAMB/NCE/ND or its approved equivalent in Botany, Zoology, Biology and Chemistry.
  • (xxi) BIU requires in addition to the UTME requirements specified, two (2) ‘A’ Level passes NCE 3 merits or ND credit in relevant subject/programme.
  • (xxii) UNIOSUN requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes from Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Accepts a minimum of lower credit and approved equivalents.
  • (xxiii) AUN accepts (a) ‘A’ Level passes chosen from English Language, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Literature in English, Government, History, Economics, Geography, Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Visual Arts, Computer Studies, Information Technology, Civics, and French. (b) does not accept ‘O’ Level credit passes in the following; Agricultural science, Food and Nutrition, Home Economics, Home Craft, Home management, Physical Education, Physical and Health Education, Music, Commerce, Accounting, Financial Accounting, Book keeping, Islamic History, Religious Studies, Tajweed, Library Studies, Diction, Kiswahili, Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Arabic, Turkish, Study skills. (c) accepts ICGSE and ‘A’ Level Cambridge and does not offer admissions direct to 200 level. May transfer credits relevant to its major at the discretion of the Dean of school.
  • (xxiv) CRAWFORD accepts ND/NCE in Biology, Food Technology, Science Laboratory Technology or Botany
  • (xxv) WESTERN-Del – Same as in Environmental Science.
  • (xxvi) UNN ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Biology, or Chemistry and Zoology, or Chemistry and Botany in addition to the UTME requirements.
  • (xxvii) EVANGEL accepts NCE or ND in related programme in addition to the UTME requirements.
  • (xxviii) FED-DUTSE accepts: (a) For Microbiology: two (2) ‘A’ Level passes (Graded A-D in GCE A level, NCE, IJMB or OND) at the ‘A’ Level in relevant subjects (Biology, Botany, Chemistry and Physics) with minimum 8 points. ND upper credit must be related discipline or area, Science Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology. Nursing Diploma at Pass level. (b) For Environmental Management and Toxicology: GCE ‘A’ Level, IJMB, NCE-Minimum of Credit Pass or OND Minimum of Lower Credit (i.e total minimum score of eight (8) points). NCE and OND courses are those with bias in Applied Sciences.
  • (xxix) MAKURDI, KWASU and GOUU – Same as in Biochemistry.
  • (xxx) CRUTECH – Same as in Biology.
  • (xxxi) RENAISSANCE requires ND upper credit from a recognised institution plus the UTME requirements.
  • (xxxii) KSUSTA requires ‘A’ Level passes NCE, IJMB or its equivalent in Biology and Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or Technical Drawing in addition to the UTME requirements. It also accepts ND/HND credit in relevant programmes.
  • (xxxiii) OSUSTECH requires (a) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Biology, Chemistry or Physics (b) ND distinction and credit in relevant programmes.
  • (xxxiv) MCPHERSON accepts ND upper credit or HND lower credit in relevant programmes ‘O’ Level credit pass in either Physics or Mathematics in addition to ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Biology.
  • (xxxv) CALEB accepts ND credit in Science Laboratory Technology or Sciences related programmes for admission by direct entry provided they have the UTME subjects at one (1) sitting.
  • (xxxvi) CUAB accepts IJMB and ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics or Geography at acceptable grades. (ii) ND, HND or its equivalent in Agricultural Science or Civil Engineering or related programmes provided the UTME requirements have been met can be admitted into 200 level.
  • (xxxvii) BSU for Environmental Management and Toxicology accepts ND/HND upper credit in Health Technology, Agriculture and other related programme.
  • (xxxviii) UMYUK requires a minimum of 9 points in IJMB/HSC/GCE ‘A’ Level/NCE in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Candidates with a minimum of lower credit pass in National Diploma from recognized institutions or School of Health Technology (SHT) in related discipline may also be admitted.
  • (xxxix) BENIN for Science Laboratory Technology in addition to the UTME requirements may accept two (2) ‘A’ Level passes or its recognized equivalents at not more than two (2) sittings. The subjects should be of the Sciences.
  • (lx) BAUCHI accepts IJMB/A level/ passes in Biology, Chemistry and anyone of Mathematics, Physics or Agricultural Science. ND lower credit in the following areas: Science Laboratory Technology and Food Science Technology. The candidate must also have the five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
  • (xli) AUGUSTINE requires two (2) ‘ ‘A’ Level passes in Biology, Botany, Zoology and Chemistry or Physics. Also accepts NCE credit and ND in addition to five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes or its equivalent.
  • (lxii) WESTERN-DEL requires two (2) ‘ ‘A’ Level passes in Biology and any one (1) of Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics. It accepts ND in Biology and Chemistry.
  • (lxiii) NILE accepts any two (2) ‘ ‘A’ Level passes in Science subjects. Also accepts ND/HND lower credit or NCE merit in relevant programmes.
  • (lxiv) UNIKINGS accepts ‘A’ Level passes in Biology and any one of Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry. It also accepts NCE/ND/HND in related field plus UTME requirements.
  • (lxv) SOSU accepts HND lower credit or ND upper credit in Science Laboratory Technology, Food Science Technology or its equivalents. IJMB SCIENCE (10 Points) with the UTME requirements.
  • (lxvi) ODUDUWA accepts ND/NCE in related programmes.
  • (lxvii) MOUNTAIN TOP accepts; Candidates seeking admission by Direct Entry into 200 Level in B.Sc (Hons) Microbiology must have at least five (5) O’level, credit passes in English language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and are also required to have passed a minimum of two (2) relevant subjects (including Biology) at JUPEB, GCE/IJMB Advanced level or any approved equivalents in relevant science subjects.
  • (lxviii) EUI requires two (2) A level passes in Biology, Botany, Zoology and Chemistry or Physics. NCE and ND credit
  • (lxix) FED-DUTSINMA accepts Two ‘A’ level passes in Botany /Zoology/Biology and Chemistry. ND/NCE with good grades in any relevant field.
  • (l) PLASU accepts a) degree in any programme provided the candidate meets the UTME requirements b) HND lower credit in relevant programme, with the UTME requirements, c) ND lower credit in relevant programme, with the UTME requirements. d) PLASU does not accept university diplomas and other diplomas not accredited by the relevant accrediting bodies.
  • (li) EUI accepts; a) Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one from Biology, Zoology or Botany. b) NCE/OND/HND with credit passes from a recognised institution in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements. c) A very good passes in JUPEB in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. d) IJMB passes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
  • (lii) RSU in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements accepts: (a) HND (Lower Credit) in related courses. (b) OND/ND (Upper Credit) in related courses. (c) HSC/GCE ‘A’ Level passes in Biology and Chemistry or Physics.
  • (liii) FED-OYE EKITI – Direct Entry candidates in addition to having five (5) credits at SSC, obtain a minimum of upper credit in OND in a relevant Biological Science course, minimum of ‘B’ grade in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in IJMB and overall ‘B’ grade in relevant courses or subjects in N.C.E
  • (liv) FUPRE requires two (2) A level passes in Chemistry and Biology.
  • (lv) BAYERO accepts IJMB, NCE – Minimum of B grade in the relevant subject combination, minus education in all programmes in the faculty of Life Sciences. (lvi) ILORIN accepts UTME qualifications plus a minimum of two (2) A’ Level passes in Biology and Chemistry.
  • (lvii) EKSU – For Science Laboratory Technology it requires two (2) A Level passes in Chemistry and any one (1) from Biology, Zoology or Botany.
  • (lviii) FED-WUKARI – for Microbiology it accepts; Direct Entry candidates must obtain at least two ‘A’/ Level passes in relevant Science subjects which must include: Biology, Chemistry, Botany/Geography/Mathematics/Physics at GCE A/ level, IJMB/Advanced NABTEB or merit pass at NCE or at least a credit in OND/HND in relevant fields. Candidate must also satisfy UTME admission requirements of Five (5) Credits including English Language and Mathematics.
  • (lix) FED-LOKOJA accepts In addition to meeting the UTME Entry Requirements; Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes to include one (1) of Botany, Zoology, Biology or Chemistry; IJMB minimum of 8 points with passes in relevant subjects; NCE Credit pass in Chemistry and Biology; ND upper credit in Biological Science, Science Laboratory Technology or related programmes from a recognised institution; HND lower credit in relevant programmes from Accredited Tertiary Institutions; Degree (Third Class) relevant to the programme.
  • (lx) ABU accepts Two ‘A’ level /IJMB passes in Chemistry and Biology in addition to O/L requirements.
  • (lxi) PHC accepts Two (2) A/level GCE or HSC or IJMB or JUPEB passes in Biology and any one of Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics including UTME entry requirements. For Science Laboratory Technology PHC accepts Two (2) A/level GCE or HSC or IJMB or JUPEB passes in Chemistry and Physics including UTME entry requirements. OND (Upper Credit) in Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) from NBTE recognized Institutions including UTME entry requirements.
  • (lxii) FED-LAFIA accepts in addition to UTME requirements, DE candidates must have any of the following: IJMB: Minimum of 9 points in Biology and any two of Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics. GCE A’ Level: with Credit pass in Biology or Botany and at least two from Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics; ND: Lower credit in Science Lab. Tech and Food Technology; HND: In either Microbiology, Biotech or Biochemistry. NCE: Merit with Credit Pass in Integrated Science. For Microbiology, FED-LAFIA accepts In addition to UTME requirements, DE candidates must have any of the following: IJMB: Minimum of 9 points in Biology and any two of Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics. GCE A’ Level: with Credit pass in Biology or Botany and at least two from Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics; ND: Lower credit in Science Lab. Tech or Food Technology; HND: In either Microbiology, Biotech or Biochemistry; NCE: Merit with Credit Pass in Integrated Science.
  • (lxiii) FED-KASHERE accepts Three ‘A’ Level passes in Biology and any other two of Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Botany and Geography OR Minimum of 9 points in IJMB, 10 points in NCE with credit pass in the subject of specialization OR at least a Merit pass in relevant Diploma. In addition, candidate must satisfy the ‘O’ Level requirement for the Programme.
  • (lxiv) KASU accepts Two ‘A’ Level passes in Biology and any from Chemistry Physics, Zoology or Botany. ND/HND Lower Credit in related field. NCE merit and IJMB 7 Points and above in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements.
  • (lxv) LANDMARK accepts Two (2) A level passes in Chemistry and any one (1) from Biology, Zoology or Botany.
  • (lxvi) SOSU accepts A minimum of Merit at NCE in a relevant course or a Lower Credit at ND/HND in Laboratory Science
  • (lxvii) MAUTY accepts Two (2) A level passes in Chemistry and Biology. ND/HND at credit passes in relevant fields. For Science Laboratory Technology MAUTY accepts Two (2) A level passes in Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Mathematics. ND/HND in Laboratory Technology or Equivalent at credit Level.
