Jubilation as FG Approves ₦77,000 Monthly Allowance for NYSC Corps Members Starting March

The NYSC has announced that corps members will receive a ₦77,000 monthly allowance starting March 2025, reaffirming the government’s commitment to their welfare and national development.

Abuja, Nigeria – The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, has announced that corps members across the country will begin receiving a new monthly allowance of ₦77,000, starting in March 2025.

Speaking during an interactive session with corps members at the Wuse and Garki NYSC Zonal Offices in Abuja, Nafiu reassured them of the Federal Government’s commitment to their welfare and well-being. He emphasized that the NYSC scheme remains dedicated to supporting corps members throughout their service year.

“From March, you will start receiving ₦77,000 as your monthly allowance. NYSC keeps accurate records, and I assure you that your payments will be made promptly. The nation and the scheme value your service,” Nafiu stated.

The Director General praised the selfless service of corps members and urged them to remain calm, dedicated, and disciplined in their duties. He also commended the visionaries behind the NYSC scheme and encouraged all stakeholders to continue supporting its objectives.

Furthermore, Nafiu reaffirmed the NYSC’s mission to instill patriotism, discipline, leadership qualities, and teamwork among corps members, ensuring they contribute meaningfully to national development.

The announcement has sparked nationwide excitement among corps members, as the increment marks a significant improvement in their financial support. This move aligns with growing calls for better remuneration for young graduates participating in the one-year mandatory national service program.

With this development, corps members are set to experience enhanced financial stability, which will help them better navigate their service year while contributing to community development projects across the country.
