The Academic Board of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja on Thursday approved the withdrawal of 193 students from the institution over poor academic performance.


The decision to withdraw the affected students was reached after the School emergency meeting which was presided over by the Deputy Rector, Dr. Kehinde Felix Lamidi.

According to the breakdown issued by the institution Head, Public Relations and Protocol Unit, Mrs Uredo Omale, nine of the students withdrawn were studying for their National Diploma, ”one from the Maths and Statistics department and another from the Science Laboratory Technology department.
130 students were withdrawn from ND I, Business Administration while 31 from the same department in Higher National Diploma, (HND I).
For Library Science and Information Technology, 20 students were withdrawn in ND I while two were also asked to go in ND II.
It will be recalled that the Academic Board at a meeting held on Monday 9th August 2021 approved some results and withdrew 217 students from the institution over poor academic performance.
