David Akanmu, an exceptional Nigerian student who achieved a perfect 5.00/5.00 GPA gets a scholarship to Stanford University for his Doctorate Degree without a masters.
David Akanmu, an exceptional Nigerian student who achieved a perfect 5.00/5.00 GPA, has been named the valedictorian of the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
He earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and was recognized as both the university’s overall best-graduating student and the top student in his faculty.
David has been awarded the prestigious Knight-Hennessy Scholarship to pursue a PhD at Stanford University, despite not having a master’s degree. He is among 90 scholars selected from 60 universities globally for this honor.
According to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program, David is one of only five Africans and the sole representative from an African-based university to join the 2024 cohort.
