The accomplishment exceeded the previous record of 18 minutes and 57 seconds, as mentioned in the University bulletin.
The report detailed that on January 25, 2024, at the University of Ilorin, Mr. Qudus Owoyemi, a 400-level student of the Department of Statistics, achieved a new world record for completing five skin fade haircuts in an astonishing time of 14 minutes, 56 seconds, and 83 milliseconds. This remarkable feat is anticipated to be officially recognized by the Guinness World Records.
The bulletin noted that Owoyemi, a distinguished University scholar with a CGPA of 4.87, received cheers from an enthralled audience during the event.
The Sub-Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Garba, and the Students Union President, Mr. Joseph Ologundudu, were reportedly present to witness the record-breaking performance.
Reacting to the achievement, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, expressed his admiration for Owoyemi’s accomplishment, emphasizing the university’s pride in his feat.
