15-Year-Old Whiz Kid Sets Record, Earns First-Class Degree in Mathematics

Cursory: Yasha Asley, 15, earned a Mathematics degree with first-class honors from the University of Leicester, UK, becoming its youngest graduate. See full details below.

A remarkable 15-year-old named Yasha Asley has made headlines by earning a Mathematics degree with first-class honors from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, becoming the institution’s youngest graduate ever.

Hailing from Rowley Fields, Yasha achieved this milestone by obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at a remarkably young age, setting a precedent at the university.

Notably, he had previously made waves by excelling in A Level mathematics at the age of eight, paving the way for his early admission to university without completing primary school.

In an extraordinary display of dedication, Yasha balanced his studies with a lecturing position at the University of Leicester. Reflecting on his graduation experience, he expressed a mix of nerves, excitement, and happiness, noting the supportive reception he received.

In his words:

“Graduating was very different from anything I’ve done before. I was a bit nervous, a bit excited, and a bit happy, but I got a good reaction so that helped.”

From his early years in primary school, Yasha harbored a passion for commencing university education ahead of schedule, emphasizing the importance of determination and enthusiasm in pursuing one’s interests. He credited his success to the unwavering support of his father, Moussa.

“People were curious about me at first, but that settled down and I was just another student which I appreciated and liked. I love absolutely everything about mathematics and I would like to continue studying,” he said.

Yasha’s father, Moussa stated that he is proud of his son’s achievement adding that he had always waited to witness the day as he quit his job as an accountant to focus on his son.
