NSCDC Warns: Stay Away from 2025 UTME Centres If You’re Up to No Good!
As the 2025 Mock-UTME and UTME approach, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has issued a serious “Don’t try nonsense” warning to all impostors, scammers, and troublemakers — stay far away from JAMB centres!
After a top-level meeting with JAMB officials, the Deputy Commandant-General of NSCDC, Mr. Philip Ayuba, made it clear that State Commandants will now be held responsible for anything shady that happens at UTME centres under their watch. Why the tough stance? Well, there have been recent reports of theft and misconduct in some JAMB offices — and some NSCDC officers were allegedly involved. 👀
But don’t worry, Mr. Ayuba says those bad eggs are being investigated and promised that such nonsense won’t happen again. He also gave his word that the NSCDC is ready to work hand-in-hand with JAMB State Coordinators to protect all UTME centres and equipment. ✅
He didn’t stop there. On issues like late arrival of officers and extortion of candidates, Ayuba promised better surveillance and warned criminals that they’ll be dealt with ruthlessly if caught trying to mess with the exam process.
Meanwhile, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, wasn’t smiling either. He expressed deep concern over stolen JAMB property and delays caused by late-coming NSCDC officers. He even revealed that some officers were paid but marked absent by the Biometric Verification System — and had to return the money! 😬
Oloyede stressed the importance of punctuality and called for tight cooperation between NSCDC and JAMB teams, especially as 887 centres will be used for the Mock-UTME on April 10, 2025.
To improve performance, he announced that NSCDC officers will get 100% increase in refreshment allowance (yes, double the snacks 🍗🥤), and those who carry arms will undergo a one-week training at the National Institute of Security Studies (NISS) to improve their behavior and boost their security skills.
Bottom line? If you’re planning to cheat, cause confusion, or show up late — think twice. JAMB and NSCDC are teaming up like never before to ensure a smooth, secure, and scam-free 2025 UTME season. 📚💪
