Banky W, a 44-year-old Nigerian singer and actor, earned a Master’s degree in Policy Management from Georgetown University, describing the journey as a transformative period marked by personal growth, fatherhood, and unwavering support from his wife.

Nigerian singer, actor, and public figure, Olubankole Wellington — widely known as Banky W — has achieved an impressive academic feat by earning a Master’s degree in Policy Management from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., USA.
To celebrate the occasion, Banky W shared heartfelt photos on Instagram surrounded by family and friends at his graduation. He described the journey as a transformative and introspective period in his life.
“Sometimes, it’s important to step away from the noise and ask yourself who you’re becoming,” he reflected.
He emphasized that the pursuit was not merely academic; it was also deeply personal. It marked a period of growth, purpose, and inner renewal.
Faith, Family, and Perseverance
While pursuing his degree, Banky W also welcomed his second child, balancing fatherhood with the rigors of graduate study. He described it as an exhausting but meaningful time, crediting his achievement to divine grace, faith, and the steadfast support of his wife, actress Adesua Etomi.
“You can’t pour from an empty cup. I needed to refill, to evolve not just as an entertainer, but as a person and a leader,” he said.
A Lifelong Commitment to Growth
Prior to this milestone, Banky W earned a bachelor’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York on a scholarship. From music to politics, he has constantly sought new challenges—and now, with this academic success, he encourages others to believe in second chances and the power of reinvention.
“It’s never too late to start over or write a new ending,” he concluded.
