Punocracy Prize for Satire (PuPS) Writing Competition 2019 for Young Nigerians. Deadline to apply is 31st July 2019.

Punocracy is Nigeria’s first strictly satirical blog, with multiple columns authored by youth passionate about two things: writing and change.
Their objective is to make satire a widely accepted and understood tool of socio-political commentary in the country and to kindle the fire of interest in the genre.
In short, we are on a mission to improve satirical literacy and create a safe space for satir-o-philes.
This year, in further advancing our goals, we are seeking entries for the country’s first satirical writing competition for young people between the ages of 15 and 30. We believe other forms of writing, from poetry to non-fiction, have received great attention, and it is high time we equally spotlit the significance of satirising in opinion-shaping and nation-building. There is hardly a better way to do this than through a healthy rivalry.
A shortlist of ten entries will be announced and published on Punocracy’s website in September, after which the top three winners will be announced.
