CURSORY: 53 inmates from Kuje, Suleja prison set to register their WASSCE, promise to gain admission into the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).


According to Ahmed Musa Ahmed, the Controller of Corrections Kuje Custodial Centre, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, about 53 prisoners from Kuje and Suleja custodial centres will write the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
He advised the inmates to make sure to attend the preparation class so that they can make good grades as it is a very important part of reintegrating them into the society.
Ahmed also stated that the center was know for producing excellent candidates and urged them to see a future in education.
The spokesperson of the prison inmates, promised on their behalf, to work hard and make excellent results so that they can all study their desired courses in National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
The officer-in-charge of Kuje Custodial Centre, Deputy Controller of Corrections, Shehu Ibrahim, appreciated the non-governmental organisations that volunteered their resources and time towards making the registration a success.
He also called on the Federal Government to assist in making both West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO) examinations free for inmates just like the National Open University of Nigeria has done.
