Eyewitnesses describe the scene as “inferno-like,” with flames engulfing the entire building, destroying valuable art works, furniture, and documents.
The blaze affected the entire Arts and Industrial Department of the institution.
The spokesperson of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, stated that the cause of the fire is yet to be determined. The fire service is currently conducting investigations to ascertain the origin of the blaze.
Details regarding the extent of the damage and the losses incurred remain unclear as the investigation continues. Efforts are being made to evaluate the impact on the department and its facilities.
