Nigerian Lady Emerges Best Female Graduate in UNILAG with 4.92 CGPA, Celebrates Success


Agomo Blessing, a first-class graduate in Cell Biology and Genetics with a 4.92 CGPA from UNILAG, emerged as the best female science student, excelling academically, contributing to her community, and acquiring diverse skills while expressing gratitude to her family and mentors.

Agomo Blessing, a brilliant Nigerian scholar, has been celebrated as the best female graduating student in the Faculty of Science at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Nigeria. She earned a first-class degree in Cell Biology and Genetics with an outstanding cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.92 out of 5.00.

In a LinkedIn post, Blessing shared her inspiring academic journey, recounting how she gained admission to UNILAG in 2018 and worked tirelessly to achieve excellence. She credited her success to divine blessings, her late father, Mr. Johnson Agomo, who supported her education, and her family’s unwavering encouragement.

Blessing distinguished herself not only academically but also through active involvement in her university community. As a Millennium Campus Fellow, she honed her skills in leadership, health, safety, and environmental management. Additionally, she organized tutorials for Biological Science undergraduates and taught secondary school students during her undergraduate years.

Blessing acquired a diverse set of skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, digital marketing, graphic design, academic writing, and laboratory techniques. Her time at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR) during her Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) enriched her knowledge in molecular biology, hematology, clinical chemistry, serology, and virology.

Blessing expressed deep gratitude to the Department of Cell Biology and Genetics, her lecturers, supervisors, and family, particularly her mother and siblings, for their roles in her success. She looks forward to building a fulfilling career and making meaningful contributions to science and society, driven by her passion and determination.
