A corps member at an NYSC camp in Nigeria joyfully reunited with his primary school classmate after 15 years, capturing the emotional moment on TikTok.

A heartwarming reunion took place at an NYSC orientation camp in Nigeria after a corps member unexpectedly crossed paths with his primary school classmate for the first time in 15 years.
The corps member, identified on TikTok as @lightwave_art, shared a video capturing the emotional moment. According to him, their friendship began in primary school, but life took them in different directions, causing them to lose contact for over a decade.
He explained that the reunion happened in the middle of camp activities, surrounded by other corps members. What caught his attention was hearing someone repeatedly call his surname — something he hadn’t been addressed by in years. Curious and confused, he looked up and immediately recognized his long-lost schoolmate.
In his caption, he wrote:
“NYSC made me reconnect with my primary school friend after over 15 years. In a strange environment surrounded by strangers, I heard someone calling my surname. I was shocked because how would anyone here know my surname? I looked up and boom — my guy from primary school. I almost cried. Back then, we only called each other by our surnames.”
The video shows the two friends embracing joyfully, instantly reconnecting and reminiscing about their childhood days.
