ABSU Clarification on Hostel Approval and Allocation For Fresh Students.
The attention of the Management of Abia State University, Uturu, has been drawn to a misleading message currently circulating on social media and other informal platforms with the caption:
“NO MORE ONLINE HOSTEL ALLOCATION FOR FRESHERS.”
The University Management hereby states categorically that this information is FALSE, MISLEADING, and UNAUTHORIZED, and did not emanate from the University or any of its recognized offices.
Following due verification with the appropriate University authorities, Management confirms that hostel approval and allocation for fresh students REMAINS STRICTLY AN ONLINE PROCESS, as earlier communicated. No directive has been issued approving any shift to manual hostel allocation at the Student Affairs Division or elsewhere, as alleged in the circulating message.
Consequently, students and members of the public are strongly advised to DISREGARD the said publication in its entirety.
The University further cautions against acting on unverified information, as this may lead to unnecessary inconvenience, financial loss, or administrative complications.
Students are reminded that ONLY official communications released by University Management through recognized channels should be relied upon for information relating to hostel allocation and all other academic or administrative matters.
Any further updates, where necessary, will be communicated appropriately through official channels.
