Consequent to the upgrade of three higher institutions in Delta State by the state government, the State House of Assembly has passed a bill for the establishment of the Delta State University of Education, Agbor, the Delta State University of Science and Technology, Ozoro and the Delta State University of Science and Agriculture, Anwai.
The names of two of the upgraded institutions were changed during the Tuesday plenary session by members of a recommendation from the Education Committee of the House.
The Delta State University of Education, Agbor, was changed to University of Delta, Agbor, while the Delta State University of Science and Agriculture, Anwai, is now known as Dennis Osadebey University, Anwai-Asaba.
Recall that the government had in a press release on 25 January 2021, renamed the College of Education Agbor, to the University of Education, Anwai Campus, and the Delta State University was changed to Delta State University of Science and Agriculture, while the Ozoro Polytechnic, was renamed as Delta State University of Science and Technology.
