The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Southwest has stormed the palace of Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, the Timi of Ede Land to protest the killing of Federal Polytechnic Ede, Student Hassan Adedeji by suspected cult members

Adedeji was a higher diploma graduate awaiting mobilization for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
It was gathered that the student was brutally murdered along with a motorcyclist in the early hours of Thursday by suspected cultists.
The students barricaded major roads within Ede township to protest the killing of Adedeji and the yet-to-be-identified commercial motorcyclist.
The action of the students prevented the free flow of vehicular movements.
Reacting to the killings in a statement jointly signed by NANS Southwest Coordinator, Tegbe Stephen Fiyinfoluwa and NANS Southwest PRO, Esiegbe Emmanuel, the association told the Timi of Ede and State Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode that it would not condone such killings from their quarters.
“From reports gathered from the FPE Students’ Union, the junior brother of the deceased student, the school management and other quarters, it was learned that the student who had come for his HND clearance and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) registration before the unfortunate incident, was gruesomely murdered on Wednesday night at Bode/Asunmo junction alongside the motorcycle rider, which ensued from a fracas between known thugs in the community,” it said.
“It was further learned that these known thugs had been orchestrating incessant riot and attacks in the community for long as it has only drawn public attention because a student life was lost. Our reports made us learned that the perpetrator of this evil act is a group led by one Rasheed Okoolu, who has been terrorizing Ede and its environment for a long time.
“As a leader, we express our condolences to the family of the deceased, the FPE Students’ Union, The Federal Polytechnic, Ede management, the polytechnic community and the NANS Osun JCC, as we also charge students of Federal Polytechnic Ede to be security conscious and stay out of trouble.
“In addendum, the leadership, however, frowns on the way security agencies in the state are treating the matter as it shows that it had gotten out of hand.
“We hereby send a stern warning to the Timi of Ede Land, as well as the Commissioner of Police, as things of this nature will never be condoned any longer from any quarters whatsoever, as we also demand that Rasheed Okoolu and his cohort be arrested and tried in no time.”
Confirming the incident, the Osun State Police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, vowed that the prime suspect, Rasheed Okoolu, a notorious Ede-based cultist when nabbed would be brought to book.
