Nigerian Physiotherapist Bamgbelu Blessing overcame a seven-year academic journey at Obafemi Awolowo University, earning eight distinctions, a Best Graduating Student award, and top honors in the MRTB licensing exam.


A remarkable Nigerian woman, Bamgbelu Blessing, has achieved a significant milestone by graduating as a Physiotherapist from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Nigeria.
Despite encountering obstacles that extended her studies from the standard five years to seven, Blessing demonstrated exceptional perseverance and academic excellence. She earned eight distinctions and was recognized as the Best Graduating Student in one of her major courses.
Blessing obtained her Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation (BMR) in Physiotherapy from OAU’s College of Medicine and took to Twitter to share her joy and gratitude. “After seven years of hard work, the moment is finally here. I’ll be getting my license!” she wrote, celebrating her achievement.
Her academic distinctions span key areas such as Prosthetics and Orthotics, Manual Therapy, Community Physiotherapy, Clinical Works, Functional Rehabilitation, Exercise Therapy, Communication Skills and Ethics, and Research Works.
Adding to her accolades, she was honored as the Best Graduating Student in the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board (MRTB) licensing exam, a testament to her exceptional dedication and talent in her field.
Proud of her new qualifications, Blessing reintroduced herself on social media: “Let me reintroduce myself: PT Bamgbelu Blessing T., BMR. PT (Ife) with Hons.”
