UNN Expels Final Year Students over Examination Malpractice

The management of the University of Nigeria Nsukka has expelled two students over examination malpractice (impersonation to be exact).

This was made known in a memo from the University’s Registrar.

The memo partly reads:

This is to inform you that Senate, at its 407th Meeting held on Wednesday 30th June 2021, considered its paper 405/17 which contained the recommendations of its examination malpractice committee, and approved that the underlisted two students should be expelled from the university having been found guilty of impersonation under Category “A: offence, in line with Chapter 3.9 of the Undergraduate Academic Regulations.

They are:

  1. Okorie, Success (2015/203688) – Department of Political Science
  2. Oparaeke Akwaugo (2016/231502) – Department of Sociology and Anthropology

You are requested to take action in line with the above decision of the Senate and inform all concerned accordingly

Summary of What Actually Happened:

Success failed a course and asked Oparaeke to write it for her the next year. Unfortunately, Oparaeke was caught. The issue was sent to the disciplinary committee and they were bought expelled from the University.

When the expulsion decision was taken, Oparaeke was in her final year while Success had an extra year.
